- Tasks
OPERATIONS:
• Supervise the daily operations of Reception, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and F&B.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards and local regulations.
• Monitor guest satisfaction (online reviews, NPS, direct feedback) and implement continuous improvements.
• Optimize occupancy, group management, and inventory control.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and negotiate competitive conditions.
FOOD & BEVERAGE:
• Lead the bar and restaurant operations, ensuring quality and profitability.
• Design and implement strategies to increase F&B revenue: upselling, promotions, themed events, and activations.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and licensing regulations.
• Control purchasing, stock, and product costs.
LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE:
• Recruit, train, motivate, and develop the team across all departments.
• Build a culture of accountability, guest focus, and operational excellence.
• Manage schedules, payroll, and fair workload distribution.
• Lead performance evaluations: continuous feedback, development plans, and disciplinary management when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish labor laws and internal HR policies.
FINANCE & COST CONTROL:
• Direct responsibility for the hostel’s P&L, budgets, and forecasts.
• Control operational costs by optimizing staffing, purchasing, and external services.
• Maximize profitability through smart revenue management.
• Prepare and present periodic financial and operational reports to head office.
SALES, MARKETING & REVENUE:
• Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to drive direct bookings and strengthen brand presence.
• Support pricing and revenue management strategies (ADR, RevPAR, occupancy).
• Develop relationships with local partners, tour operators, agencies, and corporate accounts.
• Represent the hostel within the local community and professional industry networks.
COMPLIANCE & SAFETY:
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, occupational risk prevention, fire protection, and health regulations.
• Keep all required licenses, permits, and certifications up to date.
• Promote a culture of safety for both staff and guests.
