19.10.2022

HALLOWEEN EN BILBAO

Who said Americans only celebrate Halloween? Bilbao is packed full of events that are perfect for those who enjoy the thrills and frights of Halloween. While there is not necessarily any trick-or-treating, there are also events for the whole family. Whether it be families, groups, explorers, or students, Bilbao encapsulates the Halloween spirit and there is something there for everybody to enjoy!

HALLOWEEN PARTIES

Halloween is all about dressing up and going out and you will find plenty of that in Bilbao. Across the city, many bars and clubs offer special Halloween parties for those that want to really party and dance as whoever or whatever you want to dress as. These festivities are held from the middle of October to well after November so even if you come early to or after Halloween you won’t miss out on the fun. The venues we recommend are Back&Stage and Kafe Antzokia which are both only a five minute walk from Latroupe.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Halloween is always special for kids, and there are many different options that kids have to feel the Halloween spirit of Bilbao. On October 29-30, Kultura Aisia is has an escape room perfect for kids ages 6-12. It is recommended that you go in groups of 4-6 people, making it the perfect family event that is perfect for the kids! The area is very close to Latroupe and can be reached there by train in 15 minutes. There are also many other different activities throughout the Halloweekend that kids can enjoy!

HALLOWEEN EVENTS FOR EVERYONE

There are many Halloween festivities that are unique specifically to Bilbao. One great example is the Candlelight Concerts that epitomize the feeling of Halloween. In a grand concert room that is illuminated by orange candles, listen in awe to the atmospheric music of the orchestra. Explore how the Basque celebrate Halloween by looking for any events related to “Gau Belzeta.” The restaurant Enigmatium also offers a unique event for those interested in a special dinner on Halloween. Besides themed food, they offer a show and mysteries to solve while you are there, definitely something to check out for those who love riddles and Halloween.

HALLOWEEN IN BRUSSELS

Brussels has so much to offer when it comes to Halloween! Themed restaurants, frightening activities, and events for the whole family are offered weeks before and after Halloween. Be sure to bring your craziest and spookiest costumes to Brussels and find out what the city has to offer.

BE A PARTY MONSTER

Brussels is home to many different clubs and bars that host tons of Halloween events every year.  You can find many online, but the place where you’ll find the most party monsters is Delta’pereau’s Halloween Night. Every year tourists and locals from all over come here for a night to remember. The venue is called Deltaworx Brussel and is only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the hostel. This venue also has other Halloween events such as Trick or Tequila too that you would not want to miss. Prefer a disco where you can choose your own music? Plein Pibliek is back from the grave and throwing a silent disco over the Halloweekend that is a must for party lovers. Those who have never been to a silent disco are strongly encouraged to try this themed one!

THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN IN BRUSSELS

For those who are more into the spirit of Halloween than the party, there are lots of different activities and events happening across Brussels. One event that is completely free, and only a 15 minute walk from Latroupe, is Du Pain et des Jeux Halloween and Horror games that take place on the 26th of October. Some of the games include horror investigation games, Lovecraftian cooperation games, zombie betrayal games, and atmospheric games which will all make for the perfect pre-Halloween evening. Not really into spooky games, no problem! The Musée et le Centre d’Art Fantastique throws many different Halloween-themed events in their impressive museum. This is encouraged for the whole family to go to, where you can get a visit to the museum, see the “Animation of the Enigmas,” get a diploma in witchcraft, and get to ride on their own miniature train. The Musée et le Centre d’Art Fantastique is only 20 minutes from Latroupe using public transportation.

BE THE FLYING DUTCHMAN

Ever wanted to fulfill your dream of dressing as a pirate and celebrating on a boat? Well, now you can! This boat-themed Halloween event takes place on Halloween night and has Salsa Classes, drinks, a Halloween atmosphere with professional photographers on site, and a DJ with a dance floor so you can party all night long. For those who aren’t sure what to do on Halloween night in Brussels, we couldn’t recommend this enough. This is perfect for the explorers that want to meet new people and have their own unique adventure through Brussels on this spiritual holiday.
