Best Family Restaurants in Madrid

You are in Madrid and you want to enjoy a restaurant for the whole family but without sacrificing style and quality of food. Eating out with the family, including the little ones, doesn't have to be like those children's birthday parties in fast food restaurants.

In this list we bring you places that, due to their characteristics, are ideal for sharing a table and chatting with the ones you love the most while enjoying a fantastic day out.

Best Family Restaurants in Madrid

Restaurante Café del Río

Avenida de Portugal, 1

We start with a place that has all the characteristics you are looking for to enjoy with your loved ones; centrally located, with space for the little ones to play and for you to take a look at them, with a great atmosphere of good vibes, good food, good service and great dessert to extend the evening.

With incredible views of the Catedral de la Almudena, Real Basílica de San Francisco el Grande and the Palacio de Oriente, Restaurante Café del Río is a great option for lunch, tapas with a beer or a snack for an afternoon snack.

Café de La Plata

Paseo de las Delicias, 1. Latroupe Prado Hostel Madrid

Latroupe Prado Hostel Madrid has one of the best restaurants in the capital; Café de la Plata. We found three fantastic reasons to enjoy here with the whole family.

The first is its incredible atmosphere, with people coming from all over the world, creating a fun and family atmosphere. The second is your 4x4 menu, with something for everyone. Both adults and children will enjoy it, there is no way to go wrong with your order.

And finally, the best reason is that it is located in the same place that can be your home in Madrid, we are talking about the Latroupe Prado Hostel Madrid. Comfortable, central, very cool, and an extensive menu with lots of snacks and good prices.

And don't forget, if you want to enjoy the weather in Madrid, just go out and get a table on the terrace. Impossible to offer more.

La Mafia se Sienta a la Mesa

Plaza Manuel Gómez-Moreno

An Italian restaurant is always a good choice, because the whole family loves one of their dishes, and even more so if it's the incredible La Mafia se Sienta a la Mesa in Nuevos Ministerios.

The food is delicious thanks to its fresh ingredients, it has a great atmosphere thanks to a fantastic service and the colourful decoration and full of details is always an attraction for the most curious and observant people in the house.

COMIC PLANET. American Food & Drink

Av. de Alberto de Alcocer, 5

Are you a fan of Comic books, super heroes, hamburgers and American food? Well, that's all there is to it, you've just found your new temple in the heart of Madrid.

Its decoration will delight the most demanding Marvel and DC lovers. And although it is incredible, the decoration is not the best you will find. The dishes, despite being big hits of American culture like burgers and Nuggets, are full of flavour with an elaborate preparation.

Movie-like decor, tasty food, including their veggie burger, and colourful, yes you read that right, and if that wasn't enough, there's a special place for the little ones to play while the food arrives.

Mama Campo

Calle de Trafalgar, 22

A well-decorated place next to the Plaza de Olavide and its gardens, where everyone can enjoy the sunshine of the capital after dessert, not to be missed, the cakes by the way, from Mama Campo.

Chaste, organic and with a social conscience, as they collaborate with small farmers, ranchers and producers who share their business and life philosophy. A place to eat, enjoy and relax.

The eccentric

Calle de las Fuentes, 10

This is the place for you if you have children in the family and you want them to enjoy some of their favourite dishes and then they can play without the rest of the family worrying about them.

The reason is that they will be in the playroom and watched while the rest of the family can enjoy the rest of the meal. The food is not haute cuisine, but the menu features traditional dishes, full of flavour and good deeds.

Its central location invites you to take a stroll through the Ópera, in the Plaza de Isabel II.

Lamucca de Pez

Plaza de Carlos Cambronero, 4

Let's go to a more elaborate cuisine, with a soberer but elegant décor. Although it may not look like it from the outside, this place is very welcoming to the children of the family.

It is an elegant place where you can try various tapas and elaborate dishes of the highest quality. They have a menu designed for the whole family and the little ones can paint, colour and play on the premises. Again, its great location invites you to take a stroll after lunch, towards Callao and Gran Vía.

Family restaurants in Madrid when you are the child

We couldn't resist imagining that the youngest in the family might be you, and what you want is not a place where the kids can run around, but a place where you can enjoy the best gastronomy with your whole family.

Just in case this is the case, here are a couple of options for you to enjoy the company of your family in some of the best settings in Madrid.

Ceferino. Argentine Grill

Calle de Jorge Juan, 27

"Good wine and good meat breed good blood" Ceferino's words. With this sentence he welcomes us on his website and it is a fantastic summary of what he offers us in his restaurant in the Salamanca neighbourhood.

And even better is the welcome at the restaurant; with its unmistakable grill. Here they pay homage to the best quality meat sealed with an unmistakable smoky flavour, just like almost everything else on their menu, such as the chorizo criollos or their fantastic empanadas.

The decoration is very neat and offers a nice and cosy place where you can give a real tribute to the members of the family who are meat lovers. You can't leave here without trying the star dessert, flan de dulce de leche (crème caramel of dulce de leche).

Calle de Antonio Maura, 20

From Argentina to Japan, from Barrio de Salamanca to Retiro, we set off to Zeitaku, where you can take your family to discover new flavours in Japanese haute cuisine.

The name already gives us a clue as to what we will find in the restaurant: Zeitaku means luxury and extravagance in Japanese, and they are right. The professionalism of the service is matched by a menu full of elegance and unique flavours.

Step away from the conventional and take your loved ones on a culinary experience like they've never felt before, from their Maguro Dream, with a selection of tuna cuts to an incredible collection of spirits. Enjoy from start to finish.
