O Kwarteto is an all-female string quartet that creates original arrangements and performs Brazilian popular music through a fresh and contemporary lens. The group was founded in New York in 2017, before three of its members relocated to Spain.
Based in Madrid since 2020, O Kwarteto explores the magic that emerges from the meeting of a deeply rooted musical culture and the rich sonic palette of the string quartet, one of the most iconic formats in Western classical chamber music. The result is an elegant, vibrant, and highly evocative musical experience.
